12 Hour Gaming Livestream

Published on Wednesday, June 17th, 2020 06:14:55 PM

I am taking part in a 12 hour gaming livestream playing a selection of video games, raising money for Acting For Others

Acting for Others is an umbrella organisation that represents 14 UK theatrical charities and uses the funds it raises to offer emotional and financial support to members of the entertainment industry who have fallen on hard times through illness, injury or circumstance. They support actors, dancers, singers, variety performers, backstage workers from the dressers to the techs, front of house & box office, theatre admin and behind the scenes creatives such as directors and choreographers.

The member charities consist of: The Actors' Children's Trust, Dancers' Career Development, Dance Professionals Fund, Denville Hall, The Drury Lane Theatrical Fund, The Equity Charitable Trust, The Evelyn Norris Trust, The King George V Fund for Actors and Actresses, The Ralph & Meriel Richardson Foundation, The Royal Opera House Benevolent Fund, SafetyCurtain, The Royal Theatrical Fund, Theatre Chaplaincy UK & The Theatrical Guild.

Acting for Others is endorsed by The Stage, Equity, The Society of London Theatre, The Theatrical Management Association, The Really Useful Group, Cameron Mackintosh Ltd, Bill Kenwright Ltd, The Ambassador Theatre Group, Nimax Theatres, The National Theatre, The RSC, and Stage Entertainment UK.

I am raising money because I want to help colleagues from across the country who are struggling financially and emotionally due to COVID-19, and I want to give something back to a community of creatives that are truly accepting and inclusive. The creative arts community is a family to me.

The work that Acting For Others do is truly inspiring, and I hope that you can donate. However small or big your donation is, it will truly help. If you can't donate, that's completely okay. If you could share my page far and wide, I would be extremely grateful.

If you would like to donate, my Just Giving page can be found at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/connorstrange1

I hope you're all safe and well.
